SC Capital invests in Korean AI data centre
Development, with initial 40MW capacity, secures government backing and anchor tenant
The Asset   12 Oct 2026

SC Capital Partners Group, a Singapore-headquartered private equity real estate investment manager, has completed its investment in a 40-megawatt AI data centre development in Pohang, South Korea, in partnership with NeoAI Cloud. The project also secured investment from government-backed capital as a regional AI infrastructure initiative. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The purpose-built, high-density data centre is designed to support artificial intelligence workloads, with liquid-cooled infrastructure ready for next-generation GPUs, including Nvidia Vera Rubin. The facility, with 40MW of gross power capacity, is targeted for completion by the end of 2027.

The development has achieved key milestones, including power approval, building permits and construction commencement, providing a clear pathway towards delivery. It has also secured an anchor tenant and received strong interest for the remaining IT load, providing greater visibility and confidence in the project.

The investment adds to SC Capital Partners' exposure to South Korea's growing digital infrastructure sector and reflects its focus on opportunities supported by long-term demand for computing infrastructure.

"We are excited to complete this investment, which represents our continued expansion into digital infrastructure in Asia-Pacific,” says SC Capital Partners founder and chairman Suchad Chiaranussati. “The development benefits from strong underlying fundamentals and is well positioned to serve the evolving requirements of the digital economy.

“We remain focused on identifying high-quality opportunities, particularly in South Korea, where strong policy support for AI and digital infrastructure is contributing to a favourable environment for the sector, and working with experienced local partners to deliver investments that create long-term value for our investors."

NeoAI Cloud chief executive officer Jonathan Yongwan Jo adds: “The Pohang AI data centre is envisioned to go beyond traditional colocation by leveraging high-density infrastructure space integrated with GPUaaS ( GPU as a Service ) and AI platform capabilities to provide a high-performance foundation for global enterprises to develop AI models and operate services. Building on the successful delivery of this initial 40MW phase, we plan to advance a second phase expansion of 260MW and look forward to a continued partnership with SC Capital Partners."
